The beautiful thing about the CBD Clinic is that everyone who supports you on the day of the egg collection will be someone that you’ve met before. There’ll be our beautiful nurse who runs the day stay unit. There’ll be myself there to answer the questions to make sure you’re okay. The scientist who will explain what happens with your eggs afterwards. If there’s an anaesthetist involved, the anaesthetist and the anaesthetist also has a support person.
In the actual theatre, you may not be aware of the people involved but there’ll be what’s called a scrub sister to pass me the instruments and then later on, you’re taken out to recovery and there’ll be a recovery sister there who’ll be looking after you, giving you a cup of tea andsomething to eat and then we will contact your support person or your partner when it’s ready for you to go home.
