Sleep Apnea Treatments – Dr. Norman Swan

sleep apnea
There are lots of treatments available for sleep apnea. But you must get a proper diagnosis from your GP or sleep clinic, so you can get the right treatment.

The first thing with the treatment of sleep apnea is to make sure you’ve got it. You’ve got to consult your general practitioner so you can get a proper assessment. Losing weight makes a big difference. Changing your sleeping position. Sometimes mouth guards of certain kinds can help too. And of course, there are the sleep apnea devices that give you a CPAP, which is positive air pressure through your nose.

All those things are possible to treat. But you’ve got to have your GP coordinate the diagnosis and the care.
