It is very important to get regularly checked for Chlamydia if you’re sexually active and in you’re in your childbearing years.

Pelvic inflammatory disease is the result of inflammation due to chlamydia, a sexually transmitted infection.

Chlamydia often goes unnoticed in women. This because it’s asymptomatic until it’s too late. It can gum up your tubes and cause infertility. So if you’re sexually active you need to get regularly checked for chlamydia. This is especially important if you are a sexually active young woman and you’re in your childbearing years. This advise is important for men too.

It’s an easy test, a urine test, and your GP can advise you about that. That’s the best way to prevent pelvic inflammatory disease.
