Hello, it’s Norman Swan here. People often ask what is gallstone pain? Well, it actually varies.
Chronic gallstone pain can often be down the right hand side, just below your rib. It can be made worse by eating a fatty meal. You can feel a tenderness there under your rib if you feel it there. But if the gallstone is passing down through into your bowel, that can be really intense pain, often in the midline, too.
The thing is, if you’ve got pain you don’t understand where it is, see your doctor.
