Bedwetting – Dr. Norman Swan

Bedwetting is often caused by underlying physiological issues or urinary tract infection.

It’s relatively unusual for older children to start bedwetting from scratch. What’s usually the pattern is that a child was never been entirely dry, and they go on bed waiting for some time.

There are lots of different causes for it. One might be psychological, which is that there may be a problem at school. They could be under stress. Another may be a urinary tract infection, another may be some rarer problems.

So a child who starts bedwetting later in life really needs to get checked out by their GP.
