Australians returning from overseas could soon be able to isolate at home

by | Coronavirus - COVID-19

Australians returning from overseas could soon be able to isolate at home as the Federal, State and Territory Governments consider alternatives to hotel quarantine.

It is estimated that there are currently 30,000 Australians stranded overseas. Many Australians would be returning from high COVID-19 prevalent countries.

Under the options being considered, returning travellers would be given the option of downloading an app that allows authorities to check on the location of those required to be isolating to ensure they are still at home.

A similar approach is already being used by some states for domestic travel where there are border closures.

This could have an impact on your practice in the way you manage these patients as well as the growing number of ‘Long haul’ COVID-19 patients.

Is your practice prepared? Does this mean any changes on how you manage this patient group?
