Women advised to consult their GP about HRT risks

The ‘million women study’ published this month in the UK medical journal The Lancet (2003; 362: 419-27) has confirmed last year’s US findings that hormone replacement therapy (HRT) increases the risk of breast cancer.

Dr Bill Glasson, Australian Medical Association (AMA) president, has urged Australian women to consult their doctor regarding these findings and the risks of HRT.
