Tests find key step for AIDS cure
Tests conducted by a team of researchers at the New Jersey Medical School in the US may hold the key to blocking the reproduction of the virus that causes AIDS.
The results, published in the American Chemical Society’s journal Biochemistry, showed that by blocking the interaction of a protein necessary for the spread of the virus, and boosting that “blocker”, the virus could not be spread or develop resistance to drugs.
