Hip and thigh

Take a look at these 3 different views of the hip and thigh, showing the superficial muscle structures.

Here is the side view of your hip and thigh, showing the iliac crest (top of the hip bone), iliotibial band (ITB), tensor fasciae latae muscle, the patella (kneecap), as well as the gluteus maximus and vastus lateralis muscles.

Here is the hip and thigh viewed from the front. You can see most of the quadriceps muscles (vastus lateralis, rectus femoris and vastus medialis) as well as some of the hip flexor muscles (psoas major, iliacus and iliopsoas) and other muscles such as sartorius, gracilis, pectineus and adductor longus.

Here is the hip and thigh viewed from the back. You can see the 3 hamstring muscles (semitendinosus, biceps femoris and semimembranosus) as well as the gluteus maximus muscle, and gracilis, sartorius and plantaris muscles.
