World Lupus Day provides a forum for lupus organisations around the world to share new information about this condition and its treatment and to call for lupus to be recognised as a significant public health issue.

In Australia lupus organisations in each state organise events to increase awareness of lupus among the public and medical professionals, and to raise funds to help provide support for people living with lupus.
