Many parents avoid including eggs in the diet of their babies because they worry about increasing the baby's cholesterol level, or producing allergic reactions.
Research from the Child Nutrition Research Centre in South Australia has shown that these fears are unfounded and that up to 4 egg yolks a week can improve the child's nutrition, especially if the baby had been initially bottle-fed. Cholesterol levels became similar to those in breast-fed infants and their overall nutritional status improved.
