Ear wax softeners such as Cerumol, Ear Clear for Ear Wax Removal and Waxsol, can help soften or loosen earwax. Once instilled, the patient should lie with the ear containing the solution uppermost for 5 to 10 minutes. However, prolonged use of these medicines may lead to hypersensitivity and irritation. If pain occurs when using these medicines, consult your doctor.
