Prostate cancer support network

In the Prostate Cancer Support Network programme volunteers offer one-to-one support to men newly diagnosed with prostate cancer and their partners. The service is free and confidential. Volunteers don’t give medical advice or interfere with a patient’s treatment.

Volunteers must have been diagnosed with prostate cancer at least 2 years ago, or be the partner of a man with prostate cancer.

The Cancer Council trains volunteers to listen to a man’s concerns, talk about their own experience and how they coped and to provide hope and encouragement.

For more information on the Prostate Cancer Support Network, call the Cancer Helpline on 13 11 20.
