Red Nose Day is the major fundraising event for SIDS and Kids, an organisation dedicated to saving the lives of babies and children and to providing bereavement support to families after miscarriage, stillbirth or death of a baby or child.
Over the past 20 years, SIDS and Kids has contributed to the 85 per cent reduction in sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) through community education, research and advocacy. However, stillbirth occurs at almost 10 times the rate of SIDS, with 6 babies stillborn every day throughout Australia.
SIDS and Kids asks for the support of the community to continue caring for bereaved families and to support research into the causes of stillbirth.
