Most people know that breast milk is believed to be the best food for babies. It contains all the necessary ingredients for a healthy diet and has the additional benefit of helping to develop the relationship or 'bonding' between mother and baby.
As well as benefits to the baby, it has now been shown that breast feeding also benefits the mother. Studies in England have shown that women who breast feed have a reduced risk of developing breast cancer later in life.
Breast cancer is one of the biggest killers of women and is a disease which will affect about one in 14 women. Reducing the risk of this disease is another good reason to breast feed, if possible.
