myDr wins prestigious award

24 April 2001

The myDr team has won the major prize in the Arthritis Journalism Excellence Award 2001.

The Award, endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation of Australia and the Australian Rheumatology Association, acknowledges journalism that helps to better inform the public and the medical community about arthritis by encouraging accurate and balanced reporting on the condition.

Our Website was chosen as the overall winner from 5 categories: consumer television, consumer print, consumer radio, health professional print, and the Internet.

We won the Grand Prize, as well as the award in the Internet category, for our comprehensive Arthritis Health Centre, one of the 20 in-depth categories that can be accessed from our menu, offering a broad range of information about various health issues and conditions.

myDr managing editor Marlyn Docherty said: ‘The team at myDr was delighted to receive the Arthritis Journalism Excellence Award because it not only helps to highlight the issues surrounding the condition itself, but it also acknowledges the wealth of high-quality health information that’s available for today’s Australians.’
